my car is so quiet
warning, long story
ever since i got my car (last summer) it was pretty loud, but i thought it was suppose to be like that. but about a few weeks ago, it started rattling, so my brother told me it was an exhaust leak and i would have to get under there to find any loose nuts.
well i did and found a loose bolt on the flow pipe that connects with the back manifold. there was absolutly no room under there for any type of wrench, the most i can get was two clicks from the rachet. and plus it was a stripped bolt and the gasket was so shreded and i had to replace it also.
it took me 2 long days to finally get that bolt out. the night was comming so i decided to leave it and run an open header. i thought it sounded like a horrible v8, so first thing next morning was to finish this exhaust.
the pipe would not move more than a centimeter down for me to put in the new gasket so i had to pull it down, but then it wouldnt go back up.
it was slippery and greasy and i was getting tired so i managed with all my might to push it back into place with enough room for the gasket and i was on the road to finishing. after that i put in new bolts, cleaned up and started her up.
Man she is soo quiet now than what i was used to, not even a tone of exhaust from the back; all i was hearing earlier was the leak from the manifold.
sorry for the long story, but im just excited becus this was the first time for me ever fixing something major on my car (with the exception of oil changes and the passenger door)
so fellas if your es is making some noise, then check your exhaust
