97 Es300 Model (Windom) with 2.5L
Hi everyone!
I'm considering a 96 model Windom (same as 97 model es300). But it has the 2.5L instead of the 3.0L. Has anyone had any experience with the motor? It looks exactly the same as the 3.0L motor under the hood.
It is the same refinement (quietness/smoothness) as the 3.0L? What about performance? Searching the net produced very little result, but it seems that its rated at 200HP aswell, but with less torque?
I'm currently driving a 92 Windom with the 3.0L motor.
Cheers.

Yeppo.. Mine is a Silver 96 Toyota Windom Lexter 2.5....
Lexter is just like the coach edition with all the bells and wistles, and double exhaust.... I have found that it is quick, and has a certain purrrrr to it.. As I am in Japan, I dont get to drive it hard. But when I do get a bit of open road. I give it a bootfull. And believe me, power is not lacking!.. As I said, it has a raw sound to it... So I guess the guy who had it before me, must have beefed it up somehow? But when doing normal speeds. Its as quiet as a mouse... I really dont think you will miss the extra 500 really.. But again. all cars are different!

when i first read 2.5 i though 4 cyl. (even 5 cyl like the 98 TL's), didn't know it was a tiny v6. after reading on the performance difference i wouldn't mind a 2.5, especially to save a bit of mpg's. but if its a 2.5, shouldn't it be an ES250? lol
