HID kit voiding warranty
Well I purchased a ct200h last month and am loving it! But went out to start the car and it would not start. No power at all. I took it in for warranty and they are saying the HID kit i installed 2 days after owning the car voids all electrical problems. I did not tap into anything. Just a simple 35w kit. Now they are charging me 300 just to diagnose and said sorry. Any mod PERIOD voids warranty. I researched before installing and found everyone saying it is fine just can’t warranty the headlights them selves obviously.
What do I do?????

They cannot refuse warranty work for aftermarket parts.
They would have to prove that the HIDs caused the failure for them to not have to fulfill the warranty.
They cant prove anything without looking at the car first anyways.
It will be free warranty work, but while inspecting they can stop working on the car as soon as they find that the HID installation was botched in some way and ruined the wiring in the car. But if they find no evidence to show the HIDs did anything wrong then they must fulfill the warranty work.
I would ask them to comply with the Maguson-Moss Warranty Act.
If I were you, I would buy a new 12 volt starter battery as that is probably your problem.
It sounds like you have a dead battery. The hybrid battery is separate from the normal car battery.
The only other problem could be a bad switch to start the car.
If you have jumper cables you can try jumping it off another car.
The CT has a + Positive terminal under the hood that you can connect to jump it.
It shows you where in the manual.

It is possible that the HIDs drew too much current and burned up your wiring in your car.
They make relays that isolate the HID light power from your cars control system wiring, from what I see that is recommended to ensure the HIDs will not burn up your cars wiring.
As I said, tell them to follow the Maguson-Moss Warranty Act and that the must prove your HIDs caused the damage before they can deny the warranty coverage.
But if you did not install a relay and the HIDs did burn up the wiring then you will not be covered by the warranty.
The best thing would have been for you to replace the stock halogen bulbs and remove the HIDs before towing it in for warranty work. You should never have told them anything about the HIDs.
I really hope you just have a dead battery or something easy. Let us know what happens. Make sure to stress that they have to do the warranty work unless they can prove 100% that the HIDs are the cause of the problem.

If there is ever a potential warranty issue, always swap back to stock on any parts that the dealer could possibly point the finger at.

I'm troubled by your suggestion that it is okay to try to deceive the dealer by hiding the fact that you had modified the car. If you screw up by not installing a relay, why should Lexus be on the hook for the repairs? Do the right thing and take responsibility for your actions.
