Default Tire Replacement - OEM Michelin MXM4 or Pirelli Cinturato P7 ?

My dealer tells me that it is time to replace the original tires on my CT at 45,000 miles. My choice has come down to OEM Michelin Primacy MXm4 or Pirelli Cinturato P7. The Pirelli's are about $150 cheaper but the Tire Rack reviews look pretty good (including snow traction) . Anyone have any experience with the Pirelli's?

I am not familiar with your model car the CT......but I have a 12 page tire thread on the LS430 forum u might want to read. quick answer....sure u prob cant go wrong w the MXV4s.....but u ask about the Pirellis. I have them on my 04 LS430 and they are a very nice tire. On tire Rack it is very difficult to find a negative remark about the Pirellis and there are tons of reviews. The MXV4s are a great tire too but for some reason get very mixed reviews...some great...some say will never buy again....Michellin also has the Premier AS that just came out which is getting great reviews.......
I will just say I am very happy with my Pirellis......good luck with your search

My vote is neither. I chose Michelin Pilot AS/3. While I may no longer participate in having the best MPG figures, at least I know I'll have the best available turn-in and braking figures for an all season tire.

on tire racks "best sellers page, have you considered the continental truecontacts?

$20 per tire less than the pirelli's, better tread life, decent reviews. which ever you end up with, good luck

Those are two very good tires, but I would recommend the Pirellis. The Michelins have been around for a long time, and they are beginning to show their age. Their newer competitors, like the Pirellis, have surpassed the bar set by the MXM4s. The Pirellis will be smoother, quieter, and better in snow.
