weight reductions?
What can I do to reduce the weight of the CT200h?
I'm new to the whole hybrids thing so I don't know if you can swap out the exhaust or engine components for weight savings.
Are the wheels heavy?
I know it isn't a performance car...but trying to make it as light as possible to give it a bit more oomph!

Yeah, you could try to get lighter wheels, not sure the weight, but there's not a whole lot more you can do to reduce weight to make a noticeable difference without compromise safety and integrity. The only thing I can think of is if you drive the car solo, you can take the seats out and spare tire. And I wonder if there are any lithium ion compatible battery to swap with the battery?

I don't see how else they would just shave that much weight without removing a decent amount of stuff.
There's plenty of 12v lithium batteries available to replace the OEM 12v battery. But they are NOT cheap.

Guessing its a typo unless like I said, the went with runflats.
Take the new 6.2L c7 stingray for example. They are now using an aluminum frame, more CF in the car etc and still are heavier than the previous aluminum framed 7.0L Z06.
So unless Lexus knows something they don't, and found ways to shave an ENORMOUS amount of weight without changing the interior, body, wheels etc etc then I'm guessing one of the weight specs isn't correct. Either the 2012 or 2013.
Maybe one is a dry weight? Or are both dry and wet listed? (I haven't looked)

A compact spare tire is still listed on the Lexus website for 2013 model. Hmmm.
2130lbs for 2013 vs. 2206lbs for 2012.
I believe one was a typo, or different definitions of curb weight. Lexus would be all over that weight reduction

^^ thats a typo right? I thought the curb weight was at least 3200lbs.
If it weighed 2000lb the ct200 would be a hell of a lot more fun to drive.

I don't think less weight would make you hear less road noise.
If you want less road noise add sound dampening material. It would mean adding weight to the car.
If you want less weight I guess is to remove sound dampening material. Remove seats and such and begin removing the sound dampening and put everything back. I heard using dry ice would be easiest and start chipping away. This would increase road noise basically like a gutted track car.
