I'm not familiar with the navigation in your CT but based on other versions, I'd suggest making sure you have the right region selected (with your state in it).

10.1 is the latest version. If the street names are labeled at the bottom, but not seen, make certain that the map size is 700 yards or less! The greater the zoom, the more detail in street and names.
