Lexus wants to reacquire my leased 2012 CT200
Hi Everyone,
Wanted to ask for advice on the following:
Got a call from my Lexus dealer because they have a buyer supposedly interested in buying my leased CT200h. My lease is 36mo / 12k mi per yr / $486 monthly. The car is exactly 2 years old and has 22500 miles on it.
They are offering me $450/mo with $1000 down on a 2014. All other terms the same. Basic model, like my current one.
Any advice would be much appreciated!

1000 down is about $27.78 dollars a month (1000/36 months) so if it was zero down then you would be paying about $477.78 a month. Savings of about <$9 bucks a month total. It also is a brand new model 0 miles so thats something to take away. Personally if they can do better on the deal a little bit for a new lease renewal, I would do it but not really saving anything by doing so. Pretty much almost matching what you got already so kinda good. If thats good with you, I would take it unless you had planned on purchasing the vehicle when the lease is over.
Be weary, they may just be doing this so they renew your lease on a newer car. Kinda like keeping you in while they got you tied up

Did they send you the offer in the mail, or did they call? If it was via mail, then it is just a sales tactic. If they called, then it would be more likely that they really do have a buyer in line.
I've gotten these offers in the mail in regards to my previous Nissan and this Lexus.
If you're interested in getting the new lease and they really are motivated to get your current vehicle, see if they'd give you the $450/mo with $0 down.

When it came time to turn in my 2010 RX350, the dealer offered a significant trade-in value above the lease residual. It seems that the whosale price was higher than the residual and the dealer really wanted the car. This may be a real deal for you, but it is almost surely based on you buying another Lexus.
