DIY: Removing Front Lexus Emblem
Since alot of guys seemed to be having problems removing there front emblem when swapping out the upper grille for a F-Sport grill i decided to show you guys a quick trick from my swap this past weekend.
See the diagram if you need to see how it's assembled on sewell:

If you need replacement parts the part # is: 9018306044
Note the emblem is held in place via 2 spring nuts which are definitely a pain in the *** to remove if you don't understand the physics of how its being held in place. If you look closely at the bracket you see 6 teeth pushing against the riveted post.
Ok so what's the easiest and fastest way to remove the sprint nut?
Tools you will need:
1. Can of WD40 or your fav liquid lube
2. Utility knife or thin blade knife (box opener, etc.)
3. 2 small thin blade slot screw drivers.
Technique:
1. Spray a liberal amount of WD40 on the post(s)
2. Stick your thin blade knife under sprint nut
3. Using the 2 thin blade slot screw drivers one on each side of the knife blade rotate the screw drivers away from yourself. Think of like rolling on the throttle on a motorcycle. This creates enough torque to push the sprint nut out of the rivot along with the lube from the WD40. Go around the entire radius of each and it should slowly release one at a time.
Note: If you still can't get it off you can slice a tiny sliver off the post to make it easier to remove.

You can probably also use a hook tool to pull the little teeth up.
I used a similar technique to get a fuel clamp off an E46 BMW. it uses similar tooth/pronged clip that you'd normally need a $50 BMW tool for. But i just used two tiny picks and some patience.
