Need help with my old car
So I'm not really sure what to do...so I got my IS back in May to replace my 99 accord. no problems with the car. I didn't trade it in b/c I was originally going to give the car to my sister, but she ended up getting a new as well. So now I have my accord that I'm trying to get rid of, but just my luck a couple of months ago the car just started running into problems, the engine light went on and the car stalls sometimes when coming to a stop light (sometimes won't start up at all). it was a weird coincidence that the car started having problems like a month after i bought my new car (maybe b/c i wasn't driving it everyday anymore?) anyways, did some research online about hondas having this problem, and i replaced the fuel injectors and the main relay and reset the ecu. the car would work great for a few days, but then go back to its stalling ways.
I just want to get rid of the damn car and am willing to sell it at a discount, but since the engine light is on I can't get it to pass a smog test (apparently, you can't sell an old car in cali if it hasn't been smogged within the past 3 months), and I REALLY don't wanna pour anymore money into the car. Any advice on what I should do with the car?

obviously i'm no lawyer, i've read that you can sell a car as is, but technically the sale is not binding b/c cali law requires it to be smogged before sale (cali law > contract). so, if the person buying the car can't fix it and can't pass smog, they can come back to me and it'll be my problem again.

this might seem pretty SIMPLE but... .as i read it
you should be able to reset the ECU & IMMEDIATELY take it for a smog check.... before it starts acting up again....
resettign the ECU can be done in teh Smog Check parking lot.... just pull the Neg. battery cable , count to 60 and reattach.
Done.
get a smog check.
sell it.

My friend has a code reader so I'm going to pull the codes this week.
Yea, I think non-opping the car is my last resort, since I'm assuming that I'd get a lot less $ for the car...
