hit and run
So tonight, I went out to help my brother jump start his car. We were on Fremont Ave. in South Pasadena. I parked in front of his car with my hood facing his, and after trying to jump his car with no success, we decided to just call a tow truck and have it towed. My brother had left his phone in my car, and as he opened my passenger door and ducked into retrieve his phone, a large either pickup truck or SUV barreled into my passenger side door and hit my brother. I literally watched in slow motion as he flipped in the air and landed, rolled over to the side of the road, and just... lay there. The sight of my brother laying there is something I don't think I'll ever forget. He was brought to the hospital with fractured vertebrae in his neck, compound fracture of his right femur, and a fractured pelvis. The guy who hit him never even hit the brakes, just took off.
I have to say tho, I used to be one of those people who would joke around and say stuff like "theres never a cop around when you need one." Tonight, the police came through for me in spades, literally arriving within 1 minute of my emergency call to block off the road, and with about 5-6 other police cruisers tearing down Fremont in an attempt to find the guy. I don't think I will ever again complain about the police. They came through for me and my family tonight, and for that I am eternally grateful.

That's such a horrible story!
I hope your brother heals quickly. I pray for his recovery and peace of mind.
It's such a tragedy to hear people would be so irresponsible. I hope they find the perpetrator guilty of such negligence and inhumanity.
By the way, if there is anything that we can do, please ask. Donate blood, publicize information regarding how to find/identify the criminal, or whatever; please feel free to ask.

Wow, so so sorry to hear about your brother, I hope for a fast and speedy recovery for him, you and your family. I also hope the police find this A hole and throw the book at him. Like someone mentioned earlier, whoever it was, was probably drunk or on drugs. As a medic/ER nurse in the military and in my civilian job, ive seen what the damages drunks and hit and run drivers cause. Like you said, the image of your brother will last, but hopefully get better. Please keep us posted on your brother and if they catch this foooooool. God Bless.
