Head 2 Head GSF vs CTS-V Motor Trend video
I know it's not specifically related to the ISF, but it's F related (our community is small enough) so I thought I'd post it up. I think the comparison for very obvious reasons is a non-comparison power wise considering what the CTS-V has packing HP & TQ but the main thing I think Lexus dropped the ball on is the price $85K!! If it was priced lower it would be a better value against something like the Cadillac. Hence why I don't think Lexus has moved very many of these

^^^^^^Agreed that's why I said above Lexus priced the GSF/RCF waaay too high! And like you said the price point puts it in the big leagues with cars like the CTS-V etc..........

I still think of that CTS as one size smaller than the mid-sized GS. Feels odd to compare the two, even though I know the CTS has grown lately. But that's Cadillac's problem right now, not Lexus.
Otherwise, yes. The GSF is too pricey. This is a bad habit that seems to be gaining some speed lately. Other cars that originally promised lowered pricing but arrived with jacked up pricing include the NSX, R8, and LFA. At least it seems incentives are now bringing the GSF back down to reality.

So am I the only one who likes the previous gen IS-F better than the new GS-F??? Same engine(brilliant engine, even if its down on hp vs the now boosted competition) as the IS-F, but in a larger, heavier, less athletic car that costs 20-30k more. Plus I like the cleaner styling on the IS-F, the front end on the GS-F is just too much, especially considering how plain the rest of the car looks.
I also like the previous gen CTS-V a lot more than the current car(which is still awesome BTW). Once again, the styling on the new car isn't quite right. The face, with those stretched back led headlights, looks like an older lady who got a bad facelift, if you know what I mean. From the back its very plain, rather boring and conservative.
The previous gen CTS-V, man the styling was just bang on. Shaped with a meat cleaver, it wore those bold creases well, be it in sedan, coupe or wagon form. It was an in your face design, one that really flowed IMO, the whole car seemed to carry the angry, pissed off, almost art deco/gothic severe crease theme on every surface, every detail. The current CTS-V and GS-F, very bold faces with just boring sedan bodies from the a pillar back. Also I loved how you could get the previous CTS-V in a very radical looking coupe or wagon(really love the wagon) if you thought the sedan was a bit staid lol. Also the infotainment system was way easier to use, CUE just plain sucks with its hard to use, gloss black buttons that smudge every time you use them.

I think it proves multiple points
1) If you want a reliable Lexus midisize sport sedan, you have the GSF.
1a) Cannot say Lexus never looked out for the Lexus sport segment buyers
2) Lexus of all people kept the V8 alive
3) Lexus infotainment still needs alot of work
4) If you dont want a thorough bred Lexus Sport Sedan, plenty of options out there.
5) The 8 speed transmission needs work.
nothing new, but in anticipation of those who might take the video as a blatant work of MotorTrend continued behind the scenes vow to destroy the Lexus brand, Flame Suit On :P
