Default Lexus Cars Ravaged in Australian Dealership Fire

Don't you just hate it when bad things happen to good cars? Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened in Queensland, Australia on Monday, as a local dealership went up in flames, and multiple cars were burned.

IMO, fires around cars can really be scary. Though the gas tanks on modern vehicles are sealed up and secured pretty well, each one of them contains an average 15 to 20 gallons (or highly explosive fumes) of gasoline. That's the equivalent of a small military-grade napalm bomb.

Virtually non-existent situation with Lexus, as most dealerships were built when fire sprinklers were mandatory.

Ever see a tire pop in a car fire? Lots of fun there as well, shoots molten hot rubber several feet in the direction of the poor firefighter trying to put it out.

If you read the description it says the fire department was held up by electrically operated doors(power was out). Not sure if they're talking about a gate or like service bay doors or bank vault doors. If its a gate, run that sob over with the fire truck, that's why they have huge bumpers. And they should have the tools to chop down or saw down a door pretty damn quick unless its something like a bank vault.

Burning rubber also stinks like few other things.
