i have to differ on this one.i have owned a 77 and a 04 corvette and i can tell you gm's leather in there vettes is USDA crap.
ive heard the new vette has addessed that issue.

Can't believe this thread is still going. Yeah, we get it, any used car is a cat in a bag, carfax doesn't mean d1ck, and all you really have is the seller's story. But this is not THAT unbelievable. So the chick knew how to drive stick, I don't think that's a skill you all of a sudden lose because of old age.

Plus if it was an old lady, a good 1/3rd of the cars on the road back in the 50's/60's/70's were stick, I'm sure she had an old 1950's Chevy with a 3 on the tree at some point.

A lot of people buy these cars for nostalgia. While it seems fishy that the car was owned by an 80 year old women, I wouldn't necessarily doubt it. If the add were for an FRS/BRZ or something, I'd call BS in a heartbeat, but a 'Vette - it's possible.
