Yea I don't get it either. I thought a new 3.0L V6 with a XGR-FSE designation was going to be announced.
I've given up on anything happening to the IS 350. I think it stays exactly the same for the entire run of the 3IS.
GM isn't sitting on their *** with the 3.6 in the 2016 ATS. The new one will be making 335hp/285 tq. That's what I would've liked from Lexus but it'll never happen.

Makes total sense and feel the same way that the US will also still offer the 350 in RWD due to market demand, but who knows... the 300 might be the only AWD model with the 350 to be exclusive in RWD.

The NX 200t still has 6AT with the FWD design so it must have something to do with the AWD system itself. I guess that only a very small number of the nX200t will be sold as FWD, so they did not care about the 8AT .

in the case of NX, thats something else... they simply made decision to have it with 6AT... Lexus RWD based vehicles use different AWD system anyway.

Those numbers whoop the 2.5-liter V6 by 37 hp and 73 lb-ft, and they're just 65 hp and 19 lb-ft under the 3.0-liter V6 in the much more popular IS 350.

i have no idea why are some people expecting them to cancel IS350 AWD in USA... thats pretty laughable idea.
As to the detuned 2GR, what exactly could they have taken out? My bet is D4S.... they have to make it cheaper somehow.
Far better option than old 2.5l... should be a much nicer drive now.

D4S plus detune... they have to make it cheaper if they wanted it to replace 2.5l price point... so it is not going to be same engine as 2GR-FSE.
