yes, like any MMC... but what they did to front is way more than expected. Its got some crazy lights. I thought they would leave it the same, to cater to older audience that ES caters to.

Those who have bought the current ES have not complained about lack of power.
its from official PR... They will be certainly adding the engine, it is not just power, but also MPG... and competitiveness overall.

Usually New means new MY :-)... but in this case, it is MMC plus for FMC they would likely say "All New"

I'd be shocked if it didn't have the same engine as the new RX does. No reason not to, its basically the same engine with direct injection.

So that means the refreshed GS needs more power...

While i hope they give the new ES same engine as the new RX it should mainly be to extract few more mpg's IMO ; in terms of power the current engines does just fine.

If they update that engines across the board it will be interesting, imagine a Camry V6 with 300 HP !

my guess is the new ES will get the same engine as the new RX. Lexus will upgrade the current 3.5 V6 use by GS and IS to an even higher HP number for their refreshes, say 320-350hp

Cool headlights. My gripe has always been the interior and the poor quality (for a Lexus) plastics. Improve it please.

curiously though, they did not mention atkinson cycle with RX... weird.

If it ends up having atkinson cycle, then they consider this basically part of their new engines, with everything basically new except for the block.

Interesting. I don't mind the 2ES dual projector look one bit.

I hope Lexus improve the ride and get rid of the cheap plastics.

The LS AVS has a Comfort mode.

I rode about 70 miles today in my buddy's new F Sport GS, I was struck by how well it rode even with the F Sport tuned AVS and the 19s. The AVS does a great job of not letting a firmer sportier drive detract from ride quality.

Sure does

Oddly enough with the LS DMS you can't run COMFORT and ECO together, you can only run them independently. They should add a COMFORT+ that can run both if the driver desires.

That would be 100hp / litre of displacement. Few engines can do that without forced induction. Engines that can typically are screamers, reaching peak hp at nosebleed-level rpms (very peaky engines with terrible torque curves).

What a refreshing surprise.... new engine w/o a redesigned model. Reminds me of the 3GS 3.0 to 3.5 V6 one model year into it.
