Well for $3500 you aren't going to be able to afford anything "cool" or "cheap on insurance"
That doesn't mean you can't afford anything decently quick and reliable. Look for a 1997-2003 Buick Regal GS. That car has the nice 3.8 supercharged V6. Look for one that is well maintained, low mile, old person owned, but has some cosmetic issues related to age or senior drivers bumping into ****.
Biggest thing on a car that age is to buy one with one or two owners and a great service history. Usually if it isn't modded, the previous owner didn't beat on it and maintained it.
Even if it has some age/miles on it, you know it was taken care of, not neglected, and some dumbass didn't try half *** fixes on it.
