Lexus debuts 2016 GS F

M5 F10 will probably be out of production by the time the GS-F is available. The M5 G30 will based on a light weight chassi ( at least 180 kg lighter ) and have the same kind of hp output, or more + AWD option. The only reason to buy a M5 F10 after this summer/fall is if you get a really good deal.

these kind of cars ARE a lot about feeling good AND impressing others. no different than a fancy house, jewelry, etc.

Lexus Champion
If I had money I would get both the Lexus and the BMW.
But personally, I still prefer the M5 F10.
M5 (F10) with Competition Package with:
-M Drivers Package increased speed limiter 305 km/h (7ME)
-Carbon Ceramic Brakes (2NK)
-BMW Akrapovic M Performance Exhaust System
The only car that comes close are the Audi RS6/RS7 and the Jaguar XF-RS. Perhaps the new Cadillac CTS-V might join it as well. The MB E63 S AMG 4 MATIC comes close.....but interior looks a bit dated.
So personally imho, unless something better comes along, the BMW M5 F10 is still the performance benchmark in this class.
Ask Batman (stealth.pilot) why he got a second BMW M5.
P.S.
On another note, why are there some people here that hate on BMW?
Sure I know this is a Lexus fan site but imho, we should be open to other car brands as well.

Considering the 4GS has not even gone through a refresh, the 5 gen GS is YEARS AWAY.
There is no guarantee a GSF will even be available for next generation.
Look what happened to ISF and LFA.
Lexus should copy BMW and how they stagger new model introductions and updates during each generation in addition to when M versions are released.....

I doubt Lexus will stagger anything... I think they did far better with RC-F which was available before standard RC in many countries worldwide.

i am sure it can be done, lfa shed 220 lbs moving from pure aluminum to 65% cf. i would love to see how lexus achieve that at an affordable price point, that would be huge. lexus always emphasize on weight and i am always keeping an eye on their effort. a 3400lb gs, imagine that

I could see that being 100-150lbs less, but what if they "spend" it on turbo engine? :-).
Like Jag and their new aluminium heavy platorm, which is supposedly very light but end result - XE and XF are not much lighter than competition due to them spending that weight saved to implement more sophisticated suspension and what not.

we are not seeing them doing mass cf yet... but moving to have more of GS made from aluminium? Like doors? Plus maybe some other savings in new platform?
