Lexus debuts 2016 GS F

Pole Position
Current GS steering wheel is really the most beautiful Lexus currently has. Maybe due to interface control they had to change it and streamline it but its definitely a step down in term of design. Still better than IS wheel though.

Agree on the plastics of the current GS versus the new GS-F wheel plastics. But I just have to say, since 2012 Lexus has the worst wheel design of any luxury make right now. Even worse than some mainstream brands like Mazda. I'm hoping something like the new LS can introduce a new wheel design (and actually vary it slightly model by model, not just copy and paste)

Can't overwhelm the crowds with an underwhelming product. Hope this isn't an omen for the RCF sedan...

That is why they needed to come out with a bang, maybe it wasn't HP and I have no idea what it could have been, but its not enough to create buzz at the auto show or online.
I had to push people out of the way to see the FT-1, now that is buzz, get it to market already!

As far as the GS-F in person, the front end does seem long, as the car spun around the wrong angle makes the front end look like a beak as it gets closer to dead on the front end looks great and is rather menacing which I like.
The rear looks great in person.
I do not know the dimensions off the top of my head but as I am in the market for something I have been looking at a lot of cars. The CTS-V in pearl, kind of matte white, with the gunmetal wheels looked great but it seemed more compact than the GS. Maybe its not, but looking at the GS I felt like there was more body to it which I liked.
We were down there this week for some marketing I am doing, so it was more work than play but everyone in my group knew I could not wait to get to the Lexus booth, it was kind of underwhelming which disappointed me. The GT3 was a nice touch, with that and the RC 350, RC-F, if there was any buzz it was that but as a Lexus fan I was a little let down.
Which auto show does Lexus go all out at if its not the NAIAS?

Ah, memories. I owned a Solar Yellow IS300 myself for almost 5 years.......that's how I originally joined CL. Not a whole lot of options, though...just essentially a base model with 16" 55-series all season tires (they didn't ride as stiff as the 17" 45-series HP tires). The one in this image seems to have aftermarket wheels...those are definitely not stock.
That color was only available, I think, in 2001 and 2002, then it was dropped. A few IS300 SportCross wagon were also produced in that color.

But I hope that the chassi and low weight can give it some really good reviews. As some people have mentioned: Honds S2000 and Mazda Miata did not need class leading power to become the "ideal driving machines". As far as I know does the standard GS already have a very good chassi compared to BMW 5 and Mercedes E . And above all, this engine is not "weak" is absolute terms. like the one in Mazda miata.
