That's what you get for actually believing it.

Italy -- Fiat, in a move to compete with General Motors, but at much lower cost, announced today that new vehicles will come with a sticker on the dash with the text (English version): "Your car will break down very soon".

I couldn't resist.

GM is up to their old tricks again, offering stuff that makes no sense. If their cars were reliable (they are not) then they would not need to offer this item.

Also, what about resale value. Not someone who test drives an older car will not be willing to pay for the vehicle knowing that future breakdowns are likely to occur.

General Motors earned more segment awards than any other automaker in the 2014 J.D. Power & Associates Initial Quality Study released on Wednesday.

IQS reflects 90 days of ownership, I would hope they can last 3 months lol. Try Vehicle Dependability Study for 3 years of ownership, tells a different story. Lexus in 1st with 68 problems per 100 vehicles. Mercedes in 2nd with 104, then the rest..

love all the uninformed gm bashing.

looks like gm won 8 of 22 vehicle dependability award categories (for 3 year old vehicles reporting by original owners).

http://autos.jdpower.com/ratings/dependability.htm

about lexus, we all know their quality and reliability is excellent, and in a league of their own overall but obviously not perfect either.

Good points, bit. One of the voices of reason in this thread.

BTW...my last four vehicles were a 1995 Toyota Celica, 2001 Lexus IS300, 2006 Subaru Outback, and 2012 Buick Verano (a fairly small Opel-derived sedan, with a GM drivetrain, marketed as a Buick). All four seemed quite well-built....and gave me few problems. The days of mass-produced lemons (and I've owned a few of them, too, mostly from the 70s and 80s) seem to be pretty much gone. Today, although there are big media-investigations into issues like the Toyota/Lexus floormat/acceleration and GM ignition switches, it seems like the worst things that most people complain about are user-unfriendly dash-electronics like the MYTOUCH, CUE, MMI, and I-Drive systems.

we already do that with the products my company manufactures. you can control it over your android/iphone as well as the controlling unit sends continuous diagnosis stats to your servicing dealer so that the dealer is aware of any impending failure coming your way.
