If this was BMW, it would likely end up being rated at the bottom of the list.

2.8 Seconds? Damn
http://bgr.com/2015/07/17/tesla-mode..._medium=social
Tesla is known for delivering cars that have crazy acceleration, but it’s newest upgrade to the Model S P85D is positively ludicrous. Tesla on Friday announced an upgrade to its Model S car that will give it a range of 300 miles per charge and let it accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a “ludicrous” 2.8 seconds. In fact, this acceleration is so impressive that Tesla is literally calling it “Ludicrous Mode.”
The upgrade will cost $10,000 and will deliver a 10% improvement in acceleration that will let it drive a quarter of a mile in just 10.8 seconds. Interestingly, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the upcoming Model X vehicle will also have option for “Ludicrous Mode,” although because that vehicle is larger it will go from 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, which is still crazy for what will be a three-row SUV.
The company also made more two more announcements Friday. The first is for an upgraded battery pack with 90-kWh that will sell for $3,000 while the second is a 70-kWh single motor that will sell for $70,000.

A few doors over, my neighbour told me that he gets the CR survey for his car, he often lets his 9 year old daughter fill out the survey.

It was only a matter of time..
Youxia X looks like a Chinese Tesla Model S

If you subscribe to the notion that a product hasn't really arrived on the global stage until a Chinese company has created a knockoff, then it's time for the Tesla Model S to take a bow. The Youxia X, which was just unveiled in China, desperately wants to be a Tesla. The design similarities between the Model S and Youxia X are impossible to ignore, from the blacked-out front fascia to the shape of the car's three-pointed logo. Both are also very smoothly shaped sedans, but the Youxia incorporates some good-looking Y-shaped taillights at the rear. Inside, the vertically oriented touchscreen in the center is clearly cribbed from Tesla.
While its shape looks familiar, it's clearly not a direct copy, and regardless of what it looks like, this electric sedan might be one of the most offbeat vehicles to come along in a while. For example, the front grille has a customizable display that's capable of showing a sweeping red light inspired by KITT from Knight Rider. According to Car New China, the Knight Rider connection goes even deeper. The name Youxia Motors apparently comes from the '80s TV show's localized name there, and the sedan's infotainment system is called KITT OS. Beyond the normal controls, it can pipe in the sound of cars like Ferrari 488 GTB or Jaguar F-Type into the interior.
According to Youxia's website, the X is powered by an electric motor making 362 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. The base battery offers a range of 137 miles – it's listed as having a 40 kW capacity, presumably a typo for 40 kWh. Additional battery options will allow 205 miles from 60 kWh and 286 miles from an 85 kWh unit.
Prices in China are slated to be around $47,000 to $63,000 before the country's roughly $15,000 incentive on EVs, Car News China reports. Of course, all of these specs and figures are just promises at the moment, since production of the Youxia X isn't slated to begin until late 2016 and the first deliveries in 2017. If Tesla's lawyers don't get to the company first, the X still has a whole lot to deliver on.

Tesla's first incentive is a $1,000 Model S referral
Whether it's to get around various state laws against selling vehicles directly to customers or just to gin up sales, Tesla Motors is starting up a brand-new referral benefit for its owners. Between now and the end of September, any Tesla driver who convinces someone else to buy a Model S will get a $1,000 Tesla credit. The buyer will also get $1,000 off the price of his or her fancy new electric vehicle.
Announcing this program today, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that it is a way for the company to possibly save money. The average cost for Tesla to sell each car in a store is around $2,000, so handing that money directly to its drivers and new buyers could lower the overall cost down the road. Musk said that the reason the program only runs through the end of September is because it's a "short-term experiment," and that the company wants to see how it works before making a "long-term strategic decision" on where to go next.
Anyone who currently drives a Model S and has ten friends who've been thinking of buying one should really put the pressure on. Apparently, the first Model S owner in each of three regions (Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America) to make 10 referrals will get a Model X for free. Anyone else who refers 10 people will be able to upgrade their Model X to the otherwise unable-to-be-purchased "Founder Series" for free. That upgrade will be worth about $20,000, apparently.
Musk called the new deal a "guerrilla tactic against car dealers in certain states," by which he means places like Texas and Connecticut. "I don't want to characterize that as the main reason, but it could be something that helps us," he said.
