Mind you, the "World Camry" has been out for years.

It will NOT be the 2015 Camry here in the U.S...

I understand that. But my observational comment still stands "Doesn't do anything for me". In fact the poor thing looks like it was beaten with an ugly stick

Would be nice to see the inspired dynamic elements of the Avalon but I don't think we will until the full redesign in 2017. I think this refresh will be unique in that it won't take the grill off the Avalon.

My next purchase is planned for around 2016/17. It'll either be a mid size or full size sedan, likely new Camry or 2-3 year old Avalon. I can't even believe myself that one of my favorite cars period wears an "Avalon" badge. It's just so stunning of a design. For the record, I'm 35, and dream of owning an Avalon.

That refreshed world Camry is really sharp...I wouldn't mind that being the new USDM Camry, at all.

Grill looks like the prior generation Avalon.

2014.5 is just changes in packaging and increase in standard options (back up camera, etc.) and a color here and there.

It also included the changes to do better in the IIHS small overlap test. That's likely why it's a 2014.5 to differentiate the two.

Asian Camry is very expensive for their market and is sold as executive car .. hence the looks.

I could not find anything anywhere about updated Camry.. so I finally found some info on those pics, it seems to be chinese SE model with new headlights, probably LEDs... but bumper is the same as before (SE), it is not a facelift.

Maybe so, but I didn't mean the styling comparison to an outdated Avalon to be a good thing...

2014.5 was to denote the running change made to help meet an "Acceptable" rating in the small overlap test.
