Have you ever declined a bargain car purchase based on the color alone?
Ever found the best car (new or used) and priced awesome, but only hated the exterior or interior color?
Did you end up buying it?
Or you wouldn't waste your time on something that you really won't like at all?

When I bought my S2000 I could have paid 5-8k less for the same model year and similar mileage if I had gone with the ubiquitous Silver/Black combo. Great for other people that just want to get into the car at the lowest possible cost, but it left me feeling numb. I couldn't do it - honestly there were only 3 colors that I could stand and of those only 2 that I genuinely liked. I went with a color that was only 10% of production and enjoy my decision daily.

a friend told me he insisted to a dealer that he only wanted a red car. of course they couldn't locate one so they kept discounting and discounting the vehicles they did have. of course he didn't really want a red one.

When I was hunting for a 1GS back in '02, I found a decent deal on a '95 GS Touring that was two tone gold and brown with tan interior. I decided I could never really make that car look the way I would want, so I kept looking. I found the blue/gay with 18K fewer miles for about the same money, but it took a few months.

Nope, color isn't really a big deal to me. When I bought my CR-V, they only had a red SE, and I took it, and that was my first red car. Took me 5 minutes to decide. I spend more time in my vehicles then I do looking at there outside.

Color is not as big a deal to me today as it used to be, but two rules, for me, still apply. First, NO black cars for me, for several reasons, and, second (as you who read my reviews know), I tend to dislike dull, funeral-home colors except for a well-done Titanium Gray Metallic.

To be fair, Honda doesn't market many 'controversial' colors....

I was looking for a black or silver LS when I bought mine...ended up with red, which I was specifically trying to avoid because my mom had the exact same car. But money talks.
The Fusion? Sterling Metallic Grey is one of my favorite Ford colors, and it was also the easiest to find No problems there.

I hated the Cosmic Blue Metallic Toyota Matrix. We had a 2005, I bought it for my wife initially, and then I got stuck with it when I had to sell my mustang. I had to drive it for a year (sky blue metallic).
If not for the color (baby blue metallic-ish), and the HORRID city gas mileage (AWD-My ram does better in town), I might still be driving it because it was decent car.
