Audi Sketches Out Crossover Concept for Beijing, May Preview the BMW X4 Rivaling Q4
Audi is previewing a crossover study that will debut at the Beijing Auto Show on April 20 with a set of drawings that reveal a sporty, coupe-like silhouette. No details are offered, but judging from previous reports we can suspect Audi’s China debut is the concept version of the upcoming Q4 crossover.
The Audi Q4 will be a rival for the Range Rover Evoque, BMW X4 and Porsche Macan, and will adopt a sportier design than the Q3 and Q5 SUVs, similar to what we have seen on the Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept earlier this year in Detroit.
The main difference between the two studies will be the additional two doors of the new Beijing concept car.
The interior appears to be very similar to the one from the Shooting Brake (and from the new 2015 Audi TT, for that matter). Overall, the sketches look promising, but expect the real thing to be less edgy when it is revealed in the metal.

Audi TT-Based Crossover Teased for Beijing Auto Show
Audi thinks that a high-riding utilitarian vehicle leaning heavily on the TT nameplate is a good idea.
The company released three teaser images of a crossover concept that borrows heavily from the TT’s styling ahead of the 2014 Beijing Auto Show. Details about the sporty-looking concept haven’t been released, but the company already said it is considering other vehicle types that would branch off of the TT.
During the Detroit Auto Show in January, Audi unveiled its Allroad Shooting Brake concept as a preview of the 2015 TT that it later unveiled in Geneva. That concept is powered by a hybrid drivetrain using a 2.0-liter tubocharged four-cylinder engine. At the time, Audi said the system made 408 hp and could carry the car from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds.
The concept being teased here has four bucket seats and borrows its dashboard from the 2015 TT. Expect more details to emerge leading up to the show on April 20.

Audi TT offroad concept reportedly getting production version in 2017
Could be called TTQ
British media is reporting the Audi TT offroad concept will morph into a production version in 2017.
Audi has already confirmed a third body style is being preparing for the TT family and they "warned" us it will most likely take the shape of a crossover. Now, CAR says the project has green-lighted for a 2017 launch and the car will essentially be an evolution of the TT offroad concept unveiled at last year's Beijing Motor Show.
The model was originally supposed to get the Q4 moniker but since there's a dispute between Volkswagen and FCA for the rights to use the Q2 and Q4 names, Audi had no other way but to think of a different designation. As a consequence, the high-riding model will likely be commercialized with the "TTQ" moniker to "avoid a confrontation with Fiat, we don't overcrowd the Q corral, and we add a fresh twist to the TT theme", according to an Audi insider.
Don't hold your breath for production versions of the TT allroad shooting brake and TT Sportback as these will not hit dealerships. As for the TTQ, it will be a sportier-looking alternative to the Q3, just like BMW is selling an X4 alongside the X3.
The Audi TTQ (name not confirmed) will probably go on sale sometime in 2017.

BMW would bring the "Y"-line, a mix of Z and X. Etc. not bad IMO, better than SUVs/CUVs. At least we'll be able to drive practical and street legal dune buggies.
Regarding the TT, I would prefer Audi to bring out the R4 or R5, baby R8.
