The fact of the matter is it doesn't compete with anything really directly but its going to eat a lot of sales from a lot of classes. Its 30k to star 35k with options, 40k pretty loaded and AWD is optional. The CLA 45 will be 45k-60k.
It looks great inside and out and has that Benz star on it. Down here I've seen maybe 20 already, its that popular. I see a few new IS's and I've seen 2 other Q50s in 2 months.
The CLA is the new "in" car for people. Benz has a hit on their hands and can't build enough of them.
Here is one on 20" CV3s already....KW has a lowering kit too for it.

After seeing one on the road, esp the back view that was enough for me (For me, it's as ugly as a 1 series).
It suffered from the pudgy-itis syndrome
Saved me a trip to the dealer
Front view is still good though.

All the so called 4 door coupes of Mercedes-Benz have droopy trunk/rear ends, which in my opinion look extremely ugly, reminds me of the Infiniti J30. Both 2nd gen and 3rd gen Lexus IS, on the other hand, look very sporty and elegant.

Their will always be better and newer cars, so just be happy with what you have now. In the long run, your IS250 will be more reliable and cheaper to maintain the the CLA250. You will lose ALOT of money if you trade in your IS250, so it really isn't worth it if thats on your mind.

The CLA is actually one inch longer than the current C class. The C class is supposed to grow a few inches next year.
The CLA looks good and is good value. Loaded the way I like, which is fully loaded, it costs around 42K. A similarly equipped C class with the same options is closer to 50K.
SOmething to consider is that the CLA comes on run flats, no room in the trunk for a spare.

If I had 30k to spend, I'd buy a 3 series.
I can't get past the nose heavy look of the CLA with its bigass overhang.
The 320i is RWD, about the same length, and looks sportier than the CLA imo even without the fastback look, and better proportioned, and goes about as fast as the CLA
