This was in Automobile magazine I got to read while waiting at discount tire. Maybe you can fi d it on their website.

This was definitely the nadir for Cadillac. So easy to fall so far. And then it took them decades to come back. This is currently a renaissance for Caddy and I hope they continue.

The Cimarron was just a gussied up Cavalier, and GM didn't even try to hide that. It was a car in search of a market,and of course it find one.

I remember reading the article when my issue arrived some time back. They got a detail wrong:

The forthcoming ATS is Cadillac's first real attempt to confront the BMW 3-series on its own terms. It's also the first small Cadillac since the Cimarron, which last plagued showrooms in 1988.
They are apparently forgetting all about the absolutely terrible Catera.
