thats the only way it will work...
Once every single dealer he tried to buy from found out he had a Hawaii address they refused to sell to him. He ended up finding the one he wanted on the east coast and is shipping it from there. Crazy!

Have your friend talk to the Hawaii DMV to make sure there won't be any hang-ups getting it registered/plated.

There shouldn't be any problem. It's easy in Hawaii. Just need the title and current safety inspection.

Default Hawaii

Hi,

When I moved to Hawaii in 2001 I owned two Lexus'. I had to take them to the Lexus dealer to have them re issued (for lack of a better word) as Hawaii cars. Both were under warranty and stayed that way.

Hawaii is a different Lexus Company , Servco Lexus (and Servco Toyota) It is NOT part of Lexus USA or Lexus of North America.

I have been told if you lived there and tried to get a car somewhere else they would not honor the warranty. but if you already owned the car, it shouldn't be a problem.

Hope that helps
