2013 Porsche Boxster

Porsche is heading in the right way with their new designs and the interiors are looking MUCH better. I don't know why but cars with open or really low center consoles do not appeal to me, but the new bridge that they have in pretty much all of their cars now look great.

Nice car, but hard to spend Corvette money on something with alot less performance. Though I think Boxsters make pretty good used car buys, as they're mostly reliable yet depreciate significantly compared to 911's.

Their gauges are stuck in 90s even on 991. I never liked their interiors, quality and finish is top notch but whole feel inside of the cabin is so clinical, typical cold symetrical german bauhaus design, no emotions what so ever. Me no likey
On topic: Boxster cost you a lot of money but it doesn't get you a lot of a car. Same story with Z4, SLK, etc they are all at least 10K overpriced.

I don't quite understand the association of the Boxster with secretaries, hairdressers, etc. who are simply not capable of purchasing and maintaining these cars. Stylistically effeminate cars at more affordable price brackets include Mini Cooper (although wait for the maintenance bills), VW Beetle, Fiat 500, etc.
Sure, if you think the Boxster is a feminine car, it's reasonable to associate it with, say, rich housewives that can tolerate the stiff ride. But tying it to $30k/yr careers seems to be a little out of touch with reality, just like in movies and TV shows where these careers seem to get gals into Mercedes SLKs and fancy Manhattan townhouses.
That said, the new Boxster is a departure from the roundish Porsche style, but it looks like a nice update with good engines and a somewhat more modern if less unique interior. I'm all for comparisons, but some of the cars being mentioned have rental-grade interiors. Basic and minimalist is fine for a performance car, but cheap materials and fitment are not. One of the only cars that truly questions the Porsche value for money is the Nissan Z, which has superb performance, gobs of power and a decent interior.
