Cars parking over the line?
#32
This is my parking lot at work literally every single day. The spots at my office are pretty small and I scratch my head every time I see this.
I was talking to a guy at work who parks in two spots that drives a Vette, I personally do not care that he does it and he's not some egotistical ***** that thinks he is bad@$$ or anything. He made the argument that his doors, like many coupes in the lot, are long to the point where if a car parks even within a foot of his car he literally has no chance of getting into his car. The other argument, which is less convincing, is that by him doing this he is leaving the car to his right ample room to get in and out of their car.
I guess that is a valid point and perhaps lends itself to suggesting the spots, in general, are too small for a lot of cars on the road...

Not at all. I'm guessing 6' ish 175lbs or so, that might even be generous. He's a pretty competitive marathon runner, cyclist, etc., so you can picture the build.

I don't get the justification for double parking on the far side of the lot?!? I mean, if nobody else is parking that far out, why do you need to double park? If there's not a chance that somebody else is going to park next to you because you're so far out, what's the point? If there IS a chance, well, then you're just taking up two spaces on the far side of the lot where somebody else could have used that spot. No different that parking up close taking up two spots...
Personally, I try to find the open spot next to other nice cars or on the end spot. If I see an open spot up front next to some beater car, I keep looking.

The place where I dislike this the most is at car shows like cars and coffee. Some douches will actually double park...it's usually the guys with mediocre cars too. Like the guy in the 458 is gonna ding the door on your Camaro, give me a break! Your stock car should be parked in the spectator lot!
