Dale Earnhardt Intimidator Camaro returns for 2011
Just when you thought you'd seen every special-edition Chevrolet Camaro out there another model comes along. Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet of Newton, NC has pulled the sheets back on a new Intimidator Camaro. The model follows in the footsteps of the 2001 Intimidator Camaro SS, by throwing a heap of extra horsepower at the already formidable muscle car. Under the hood, a supercharged V8 churns out 704 horsepower and 695 pound-feet of torque, while the rest of the vehicle has received suitable upgrades to cope with the increased performance. The suspension now wears one-inch drop rate springs, adjustable sway bars and new subframe connectors, along with a set of cross-drilled rotors help bring the vehicle down from speed.
A custom, single-piece aluminum shifter is part of the package indoors, as well as suede seat inserts, white-face gauges and an Intimidator logo embroidered into each headrest. Outside, the Intimidator Camaro can be distinguished from its non-NASCAR name-checking counterparts by its cowl hood, race-inspired spoilers and chrome wheels.

This version should be able to run with Ford's Shelby Super-Snake Mustang.
Even with the continuing memories of Earnhardt's tragic death, though, I don't see why they put his name on this model. The Camaros that Earnhardt drove, years ago, on NASCAR tracks, already had their own logo....IROC.

not diggin the huge rear spoiler, hood cowl and front air dam.....tacky IMO.
The price of the 2011 Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet Intimidator Camaro ranges from $79,993 to $85,993 depending on what options are chosen. The good news is that this seriously awesome tribute special edition package currently has no production limit but the dealership points out that, due to the high number of modifications, production is time consuming and essentially forces a limit in how many they can build.
$80,000 for a Camaro!?!?!?!?!?!?
I guess if you're jay leno its ok.

I'd guess significantly more than that, with the inevitable dealer-mark-ups. Just try and buy a Shelby Mustang, for example, for list price or below.

While the price is high, I have to give them props for actually making the car more powerful and putting some NASCARish touches on it like the front dam struts. When I saw the thread title, I thought we were in for another sorry Dale Earnhardt edition like the Monte Carlos that were essentially a sticker package. This seems more like what a Dale Earnhardt edition should really be.
