The way that you vehemently defend the brand REGARDLESS of the facts or situation forces people on neutral ground to often oppose your viewpoints because they just don't feel as unbelievably strong as you do. Maybe the driver in the Genesis was some amateur. Just because you saw someone didn't do well on a track doesn't mean you get to conclude it's a slow car. And there isn't much of performance difference between the 3.8 and 4.6 version in the 0-60 test. The 3.8 is lighter. The weight comes into play. The area where the 4.6 excels is once the car is moving i.e. carrying its "momentum". You can't expect the car to fly off from the start when it weighs over 4000 lbs and has taller gears. Use your common sense. Stop comparing heavy cars with tall gears to the lighter cars with short gears. I would base on the information released by Road & Track as they are very reputable... and NOT biased like Edmund or Car & Driver, and certainly better than some average Joe drivers out there on the street and at the drag strips.
Study the road test data I linked to you above. What will happen is that the Genesis 4.6 will play the catch up and over take the GS350 at higher speeds. It's actually pretty impressive a bigger and heavier car overtaking the GS350.
And no, IS350 isn't that fast at all from roll. The reason you *thought* you beat the Genesis 4.6 is because he wasn't racing you. Any damn thing could happen in street racing/"playing". Also maybe it was a 3.8 version not the 4.6. From roll the Genesis 4.6 is clearly faster than the IS350. 306 hp with weak gearing (4th - top gear) can't keep up with the 375 hp vehicle. IS350 takes you 19.8 sec 0-120. Genesis 4.6 takes 19 sec flat! Almost a second faster, which is about even with the 335i. If you do just stop-and-go light to light racing then yes, IS350 would certainly be faster.
IS350 and GS350 can't keep up with the 335i and it can't keep up with the Genesis 4.6 either from roll. Lexus GS460 can.
And in order to spank the properly driven (not cruising) Genesis 4.6 from roll you would need a car that has more power, something faster than the 335i.

See how the IS350 beats it from the start but the big and heavy Genesis 4.6 catches up as you go higher up. It starts to close the gap and catches up at 100 mph and by the half way/ mid way through the 4th gear the Genesis get past it, nearly a second faster at 120. IIRC, the gear spacing is more evenly spread for the Genesis 4.6 which also helps on the smooth gradual pull in the triple digit speeds. IS350 gets weak after 100. This is well known and many people know this. And GS350 is slower than the IS350 in every category. Also, racing from dig and racing from roll are very very different. You will get more surprising result if both were raced from rolling start say at 60. The Genesis would start pulling on the IS350 sooner. Forget the GS350..

Now maybe he was not in the right gear and/or he had to wait for the trans to downshift. I can tell you I pulled that car and he never started to gain on me. Oh wait, sometimes I mistake the Sonata for the Genesis!

This was true if the last time you visited Korea was circa 1991. However, modern Korea has a ton of Japanese cars. Heck, I remember asking questions at the Lexus, Honda, Toyota, and Nissan booths at the 2008 Seoul Auto show. In fact, Infiniti has used the Seoul show to introduce different models of G.
