The QX80 is Infiniti's most expensive model and also one of their best selling. The Q50 is doing fantastically in sales, as well as the QX60. The G37 (soon to be Q40) is still being sold and selling well. The Q30 is coming later this year, as well as the Q90 flagship and the GTR-based Q100.
You should be more worried about Lincoln and less about Infiniti. Infiniti is doing just fine, sir.

Afloat? Their sales are up. What on Earth are you talking about? Am I in a time warp back to 1999 or something?

Over here in the Middle East, specifically the GCC, the LX blows the QX80 out of the water in terms of sales and market share.
They sold around 15871 LX 570's in the GCC last year and 67111 Land Cruisers ( ONLY 200 SERIES )...
In comparison the Nissan sold 21102 Patrols ( These sales include sales of the old shape and the new shape combined if i'm not mistaken Y61 SWB+LWB+Y62 ) and Infiniti sold 946 QX80's....
Where i live it is not uncommon to see around 5+ LX's at a red light and i rarely see the QX even though it is much cheaper over here than the LX and even cheaper than the top spec Patrol Y62 and Land Cruiser.
To be fair though, Saudi Arabia which makes up a good amount of these numbers does not have good Infiniti/Nissan dealers and i know they are in the process of changing them which is hurting sales badly as spare parts are hard to come by for certain vehicles.
Just my 2 Riyals.

I think the reason for the very poor QX sales where i live is because the Nissan Patrol offers most if not all what the QX has with the addition of more off road tech and a much stronger name . The Patrol has been sold here for over 50 years and the QX is still new...been out since '96 but offered in the local market a few years later if i'm not mistaken. The Patrol drives and handles very well though for its size so i'm sure the QX is a excellent vehicle and offers very nice options for a reasonable price in my opinion compared to other luxury 4wds.
Lexus actually never sold this much LX's over here between 1998 and 2007 and we never even got the LX450 ,because of this problem, the LX was too similar to the LC that people just went for the top of the line LC which basically had everything the LX had, now though with the new generation the interior/looks are more differentiated and the interior is much nicer on the LX which really helped boost LX sales from 2008.

I was also told one reason for the low sales of the Lexus LX was because of the GX. And another reason why the QX80 has better sales than the LX is because Infiniti doesn't offer a 2nd SUV like how Lexus does with the LX and GX.
I know one is smaller, but a good example is the new smaller NX taking some sales from the larger RX when it comes out later this year.

Cool thread, I've been eyeing the QX56 as our next replacement SUV for our ML. It's really a cool SUV that has minivan characteristics in how it can be configured for interior space and seats 7-8 adults.
Lexus just does not have a car to compete. Actually very few companies can compete with the QX56 size. Only the Excursion or extended wheelbase Escalade/Tahoe can I think. We cross shopped the GL and it's WAY overpriced in the $100k territory and it's WAY smaller than the QX.
We plan to get the 7-passenger version with 2nd row captains, remove the center console to have a walk-through like most minivans offer. It's the ultimate safe family car IMO at any price point. With it's price holding around $60k right now is icing on the cake. Lexus LX is way too small to compete.

Why are these new threads merged with old threads? If the mods are going to merge, at least try to update the title. It's inconsistent too with other cars like the TLX, Corolla, getting their own new threads.

Hats off to Angels' Trout with this early Mother's Day gift
It’s not even Mother’s Day yet, but Mike Trout is already in the running for best Mother’s Day gift.
The Los angeles Angels outfielder, who recently signed a six-year, $144.5 million contract, surprised his mom with a brand new Infiniti QX80 SUV.
Mrs. Trout definitely will be driving in style, and it’s nice to see her son taking care of the family that undoubtedly helped push him to where he is today.
Check out a picture of the sleek new ride below.
Hopefully it inspires others to go out and find their own mothers something nice.
