That's pretty much what the GX will look like:

That looks pretty good. I would get that. Time to upgrade.

Wrong, the GX will have different front and rear ends, along with a different interior. It may have the same basic shape, and possibly platform but that's it.

I doubt that they would change much more on the exterior than the grille lights and bumper.

From the spyshots alone, the following differences compared to the Prado are already there:

- different headlights
- different grill
- different front bumper/lower intake area
- at the rear, tire is mounted under the car instead of the rear door
- different rear door, due to lack of rear-mounted tire and center-mounted license plate
- different tail lights

Insider info is that the rear door on the GX will be a different door and different mechanism than the Prado, as in the door is supposed to open in a different manner than the Prado.

So simply based on the spyshots, we can say that the entire front end will be different, as well as a mostly different rear end compared to the Prado, exterior-wise. Then of course there will also be a different interior.

Not bad except for the front grille; I like it.

Because the current interior is the Prado's with 3 more pieces of wood.

Thanks for the pic, didn't know they offer the Prado in that configuration as well. So the rear is likely to be similar, unless the GX rear door rumors are true.

The rear reflector placement is still different, as are the tail lights.

The interior of the LX is totally different than the interior of the LC. Previous generations of the LX had almost indentical interiors to an LX, but no more.

Do you really think this new 2nd-gen GX will share an near-identical interior with the Prado? That is the case with the current 1st-gen GX, but Lexus won't make the same mistake again.

Lexus is trying to differentiate itself more from Toyota models, so I am certain the new GX will have a different interior compared to the Prado. If I am wrong, I will certainly eat my words, but I cannot picture Lexus using a Prado interior for the new GX.

They're not trying hard enough.

I'm hoping they change the interior.

Not much diff from what I said no? Anyway, the GX is supposed to have either a split or upward opening door, no more "barn door"

I think the Prado looks killer in black. Change the grille and the wheels and i'm happy. Maybe some slicker touches on the dash.... would love to have the 4.5 V8 turbo diesel though.

Exactly what I was thinking - something integrated into the bumper would look sweet! Maybe it's a ground clearance issue with the GX & LX? They could've definitely done something better for the RX.
