Which direction are slotted rotors suppose to face?

That is correct!! Even looking at a new IS-F will reveal that the cross drilling runs in opposite directions left to right!!
So, no, it does not matter which way the slots are facing.

Cryo'd OEM. Blank options have only very recently become available. I would not run drilled if I had any choice.

When you say the rotors were too small for Laguna Seca, were they cooking the pads or unable to apply enough force to lock wheels?

Lots of controversy over drilled and slotted, and the newer dimpled rotors. Lots of manufacturers talk about venting gasses. A regular driver, even a spirited one, will never need this function. If you do SCCA, you may benefit, but many of them don't use these types of rotors and perform well. My MB S550 comes with cross drilled rotors. Their explanation is reduction of unsprung weight. I'll go with that.

The slots on the surface of the rotors are irrelevant.

Keep in mind, as soon as the disc is rotating, the outer edge has a higher linear speed than the inner edge. This guarantees the air flow is from the root of the disc to the edge, not the other way around.

They should be marked left and right if they're Toyota discs. They definitely are on the Supra TT.
