if they put in a nice big 3.5L V6 for 270HP and 6 speed manual, i will be so happy. that front air dam looks like it can fit a big intercooler, maybe a turbo trueno! a turbo 1.8L XRS engine.....mmmmm.
oh and although my japanese is really really bad, the little blurb says toyota is planning for this car to be sort of like an ae86 revival aimed at entry users. the magazine really wants to see it...i dunno.

p.s. that image doesnt look like cheap 4M car at all... It looks like semi-expensive sports coupe, true next gen Celica.
If that car costs 15k, I will buy 3 of them. No chance at all.

Not sure how that happened, but a MR-S can easily get better gas mileage than the XRS, its not really bad, its just that I feel it should have gotten better gas mileage

I really just hope all of these reports of 110 or 120 hp are wrong. And a weak rear differential? So where is the modding potential going to be in this car? Come on.
I really feel like the thing needs to have at least 150hp, and if that's a problem I have to imagine it'd be more cost effective to crank out a few extra 2AZ-FE's than to create an all new engine and tool up a factory for it. 150HP in a light RWD coupe is adequate and should be enough to make things spirited depending on the weight. 110 hp...is NOT. This isn't a freakin Tercel.

I love those renderings! Hopefully the car looks close to those renderings. 120HP might not seem like much but if this car weighs under 2400lbs, it will have good performance. I do agree that the car needs more power than the rumoured numbers.
Also hopefully the rumour is true about a WRC assault with this model, as many enthusiasts want to see Toyota back in WRC.
