the best time listed from Shiv which is unusually good (full custom exhaust?) is 13.2@111.2
M5 w/exhaust & headers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVBek...2D12396%2Ehtml
12.2@118.4
maybe it can keep up w/the M5, but anyways what boost is the v2 running at? 16-18psi, good luck keeping the stock turbos for 15k mi.

creating hype to sell a product. until I see timeslips to prove otherwise I remain highly doubtful the v2 upgrade can take an M5.

P.S. The boost for v2 is 14-15psi.

Unfortunately you are very misinformed about the product. The video shows what it shows. Current Proceed v1.47 runs best official time of 12.54 seconds. Add 40hp on top of that and your 1/4 mile times will look very close to stock M5 times.

Its not surprising...look at some of the faster "slightly" modded EVOs out there and they are comparable. IMAGINE what the GTR is going to be...3.8L, 450hp BASE. I'd imagine tuners are gonna go crazy with that thing.

There is a lot of speculation about engine life in this thread. 400hp/400tq is not that much to as from an all aluminum cast iron cylinder block. If anything is going to go it's going to be the transmission. Funny, if a Supra was blowing by an M5 it'd be all "nice supra", but a 335i... well that thing is just going to blow up!

The 2JZ is a legendary engine and you know it. The 335i's engine is very new and it has a lot to prove. It's reliability is questionable at this point.
When we see the 3.0L TT BMW engine making 1200HP on the stock block (or 1600HP on a track/drag car) then we can compare it to a 2JZ.

Comparing an (MK4) Supra to a 335i is totally different, sorry to say.

I don't think it's unreasonable to assume at 14psi 400/400, that the N54 will outlast most other parts of the car. Sure, it will wear faster than stock; but it's like I tell guys when we polish paint - ya, polishing removes some paint, and eventually that will lead to paint failure, but we're talking 25 years. If you have the car that long it's time for a respray anyway..

I'm not comparing the 335i to the Supra, that would just be silly. I don't think the N54 will be able to handle even half what the 2JZ can; my point was if this thread was about the Supra at 400/400 taking an M5 it'd be all "nice supra", but instead it's random speculation about the N54 tanking. Realistically I guess I can understand the speculation, but BMW engines (yes yes, I know about the early e46 m3's) are typically pretty tough, and this one *is* all alum with cast iron cylinders... I am sure someone will blow one up eventually, but I can almost promise you it'll be after adding much larger turbos, and probably blowing a tranny or two as well. The turbos in the stock 335i are going to limit the power you can produce to an amount that will probably be well under the N54's threshold.

As for the OT, I'm not doubting that a modded 335i can hang with a stock M5. That is certainly possible .

I really really like 335i. I like them more so then upcoming M3 which I am also wait listed. M3 shines on the track and I doubt I will take M3 to track at all, so 335i is looking better and better for me.
