Default What is the proper way to break-in a engine?

hi hello..

i was just browsing thru the net and i was wondering what is the real and proper way to break in a engine, so i decide to look it up, but i already knew that you usually take it easy on the engine?...

but i came upon this website that said you had to like beat on the car to get the proper piston rings to seal: http://mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

and then i read some that said to take it easy like this one said: http://www.faqfarm.com/Q/How_should_you_'break-in'_a_new_car

which is the correct method??

Default Many people will argue about this...

Different engines require different methods.

There will be many people who will post that there is a "proper" way to break in an engine, and there will be many people who will post that it is no longer "necessary" to break in an engine.

Best thing to do is to rely on the Owner's Manual. It's your choice to follow it or not...
