Default Do you understand that Yaris commercial?

Maybe I'm missing something... There is a Toyota commercial for the new Yaris. The Yaris drives up to a small pink piggybank. It then sprouts robot arms, laser cuts the bank in half, saws it in half the other way with a rotating blade, and then a little hammer comes out and taps on the piggy bank, which breaks it open. Inside there is one coin, which the Yaris' robot arm grabs and sucks back into the cars hood. Then the car splits in half and becomes two Yarises (Yarii?).

I do not understand this commercial at all. Are they saying that if you buy a Yaris, for just a little bit more money, you can have two Yarises? To me what it looks like is, this car will break your bank and take all your money, even if you don't have very much of it. But I know that can't be what they mean... Does anyone understand it? Hopefully I'm not missing something obvious...

I'm pretty sure the intended message is that for what would normally be consumed by one car, two cars can be sustained. It's also a neat way to introduce the Yaris in both available configurations (the hatch and the sedan).

I'll agree though, there's quite a bit of noise in the message they're trying to convey.

I think it means that the Yaris only requires very little money. Ie, the Yaris is cheap.

The car splitting into two is just showing that there are two configurations. All Yaris commercials end that way.

I thought that was pretty funny. The other one I saw had the Yaris running over a mechanical bug and sucking the gas out of it. LOL

I noticed in the commercial there are several pennies in the bank but the Yaris only uses one. The intended message is the car is easy on the bank.

the car lasered, sawed, hammered, and sucked the bank!!! hehehehe oh well... whatever they were going for doesn't matter. They caught our attention enough for us to ask about a commercial, so i guess it worked.

It would make sense if it didn't seem like the car was attacking the piggy bank, destroying it, and forcing the money out of it. Plus they made the piggybank so cute looking... Oh well, thanks for the input guys. You're right, they did get us talking about it...
