Default my maxima feels unstable on the freeway??

i have a 96 maxima SE for my DD that i picked up for cheap and i noticed on freeway speeds the car feels very unstable. when driving on the freeway and hitting the bumps on the road the car seems the jump to one side. could it be the tires?? tires need replacing 2/32ths left. worn struts?? bushings?? alignment needed?? i checked for damage in the frontend but none found. all original parts on car, VIN tags all intact. im going to have the tires replaced

I have a 97, and mine does no such thing. Still solid as a rock. My friends old Accord used to do that, but that was after he was in an accident with that car. It was never the same after that. Alignment maybe?? How many miles do you have??

Post that same question on that site. You have a 4th gen.

Shocks, struts, and bushings (especially lower control arm bushings)

Could be many things really. Tires, alignment, bent wheels, unballanced tires, worn out suspension bushings, bent suspension components, bad shocks and springs, etc etc

Hate to state the obvious here... but have you checked the tire pressure?

tire pressure is a 34psi. car has 180k. im going to rotate the tires from front to back and see if it make any difference. the car tracks straight, no pulling to the left or right

I'd definitely replace the tires and check to see if an alignment is needed. My sister just had a similar problem in her civic and she needed a front end alginment. Cheers.
