Well, guys......it looks like I may be in the minority here, and I respect all of your opinions, but whatever mistakes Lincoln may have made with past Navigators ( and I agree...they did not impress me very much ) THIS vehicle, without question, has a STUNNING interior : far, far better than the last Navigator. In fact, ALL of the new Lincolns, from the Zephyr to the new MKS flagship and Mark XLT pickup have what in my opinion are great interiors.....and believe me, you guys know from my history at CL and how I do write-ups that I am a difficult person to please when it comes to interiors and tend to be critical. The new Lincoln interiors all share a family resemblance and have many of the same features and colors....beige two / tones, light-color woodwork, square and rectangle patterns, classy brushed metal and chrome, and smooth, soft leather. ( suede in some models ) . They also come with dark gray interiors with darker wood paneling, but I don't think it looks as good.
I spent 3 days at the recent DC Auto Show, and it was obvious that the new Lincolns and the GM full-size SUV's ( Tahoe, Yukon, Escalade, etc....) took the awards, hands-down, as having the most improved interiors from their predecessors.
Now, of course, I, like most if not all of you, have not seen this new Navigator first-hand to make a first-hand judgement, but from the pictures Mike has posted, Man, it is a knockout.
Now, as far as the complaints about the drivetrain go.....I agree that a few more ponies under the hood wouldn't hurt, but in a vehicle this size, and considering that one generally does not buy a luxury SUV to go drag-racing on Friday nights, I don't consider 300 HP and 365 ft.-lbs. of torque to be very underpowered. However, the fact that the new Escalade, like the new Navigator, also has a stunning interior, and more power then the Navigator to boot......yes, I agree, that could be a selling point in the Escalade's favor.
