Hey, is it necessary to have a front bumper license plate in ontario, is it against the law not to have one, my car is from florida without a front license plate bracket, i prefer to leave it tha way.... I have seen some cars on the street without front plates... I wonder...

You have to have a front plate although i do not have one at the moment ( 5 months) by Ontario law.
If i were you i would leave the car being registered in Florida and pay 1/10 of Ontario insurance then you do not need the plate as well as no emission tests.

I got pulled over yesterday for no plate. I told them i just replaced the bumper a few weeks ago and am waiting for a new bracket as my Lsportline bumper has no holder for it and you can see it never had one that was removed. SO i did not get a ticket.

Mexican police down here pull me over a few times a month for not having a front plate (I also am from Florida). They give all the excuses in the world (Texas and California have them why not you). My friend down here also has his Ontario plates (and virtually every foreigner I know removes the front plate for theft prevention reasons), they get the same hassle. However, after speaking to people downtown and the American embassy (I already knew the answer)...they can't do a thing. My friend also called the Canadian embassy and heard the same story.

for me i have no place to put except where the FMIC sits. So I have no choice but to leave it sitting on the window, and when I am cruising in the states or quebec I take it off totally since they dont care if your breaking Ontario's laws
But to make a long story short, in Ontario you will get harrassed by cops and prolly get a ticket but you can take it to court and 90% get the charges dropped
