Total Car Novice Needs Help
Hi everyone,
I am turning to this forum with what I hope is an appropriate question - if not I hope the moderators will let me know. I now own a 2003 IS300 manual transmission that my father (who passed away last year) left to me. He loved this car with all his heart and took wonderful care of it. It's in really great shape with about 83K on it. When I took it to a Toyota Dealer to get some maintenance done the guy drooled over it. Knowing nothing about cars at all (I'm a math teacher in western MA), he told me so much stuff that I didn't understand. I'm looking for some help in how to try to know what the car is really worth to someone who might be interested in it without getting ripped off.
I have been reading many of the posts in this forum and there is so much information that I don't know about - all the "specs." My dad left me a huge folder full of all of the service records, but I can't find anything about the types of things you all are posting about. Where do I find all of this information? or maybe a better question is who can I talk to who would be willing to help me with this?
Please forgive my ignorance, but I do love the car too because I loved my dad. Again, if this is not the place for this question, I understand and would appreciate direction to another venue.
Any advice would be helpful,
thanks in advance

You don't really see the is300 sell for anymore than 5k tbh. And at that it would have to be preety darn clean. Most sell for 3-4k depending.
With that mileage and if it looks as clean as you state , possibly a solid 5500-6000. But jacking up a price just because it has a little bit lower mileage doesn't work.
