Thanks! The kit didn't come with a sealant but I waxed my headlights right after. What I meant was that I will have to keep up with applying products to it until I decide to put some clear on them.

Went ahead and tackled the fuel filter today!

Here is the DIY thread for anyone else who wants to change the fuel filter in their 2GS

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-how-to-2.html

Took rear seats out
<a href="http://s13.photobucket.com/user/clintdaddy/media/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018170301.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/clintdaddy/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018170301.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2016011018170301.jpg"/></a>

Gave it a good vacuum while I had the seats out

There she is

Creacking her open

Complete dis-assembly

<a href="http://s13.photobucket.com/user/clintdaddy/media/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165701.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/clintdaddy/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165701.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2016011018165701.jpg"/></a>

Old versus new filter

<a href="http://s13.photobucket.com/user/clintdaddy/media/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165800.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/clintdaddy/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165800.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2016011018165800.jpg"/></a>

Make sure to transfer all the seals from the old parts to the new or else the vehicle will not start!
The piece on the left goes underneath the large black filter and the piece on the right goes under the pump, right on top of the mesh filter.

<a href="http://s13.photobucket.com/user/clintdaddy/media/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165501.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/clintdaddy/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165501.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2016011018165501.jpg"/></a>

The new filter
<a href="http://s13.photobucket.com/user/clintdaddy/media/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165700.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/clintdaddy/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165700.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2016011018165700.jpg"/></a>

Don't forget about the little rubber washer inside here
<a href="http://s13.photobucket.com/user/clintdaddy/media/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165601.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/clintdaddy/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165601.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2016011018165601.jpg"/></a>

Reassembled!
<a href="http://s13.photobucket.com/user/clintdaddy/media/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165401.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/clintdaddy/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165401.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2016011018165401.jpg"/></a>

Closed the hatch and called it a day!

<a href="http://s13.photobucket.com/user/clintdaddy/media/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165300.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/clintdaddy/Lexi/Fuel%20Filter/2016011018165300.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2016011018165300.jpg"/></a>

That's pretty slick that Lexus gave you access to change the fuel pump out from the top. Most cars you have to drop the whole tank, which is a major PITA if you don't have a lift(Even with a lift it can be a pain depending on the car)

Nice, that's really easy! I did this on my Miata last year and although you don't have to drop the tank, the filter is still under the car, you get fuel all over you

Welcome Clint. YouTube and DIY are the best. You really get a good feel for the mechanical side of the vehicle and will know for the future how to handle something should it need attention. Just tackled my brakes the last two days and although I'm a little tired, I feel really good about doing the work myself! Look forward to your future posts.

Hey Clint, nice work so far. What was the part number for the headlight washer? I need to replace a missing one on mine, but I couldn't find it on that LexusPartsDirect site.

Authentic 06' - 07' GS430 18" rims in Hyper Silver, Continental DWSs (240/40/18) lowered on Megan EZ Street IIs

The rear isn't actually that low. I had a the old parts in the trunk and it weighed the back down.

Looking to get spacers for the rear. Spring rates are set to softest possible setting for that cloud-like ride =)

Took off the wheel well guards (the things that protect the wheel well from rock chips) and gave them a good scrubbing. They were CAKED with dirt and crud

Painted the center caps black, like the IS-F and now F-Sport models

Removed the emblems from the center caps with a dremel

<a href="http://s13.photobucket.com/user/clintdaddy/media/Lexi/Emblems%20and%20Wheel%20Chip%20Guards/2016011723180600.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/clintdaddy/Lexi/Emblems%20and%20Wheel%20Chip%20Guards/2016011723180600.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2016011723180600.jpg"/></a>

Cleaned and sanded. Prepped for paint.

<a href="http://s13.photobucket.com/user/clintdaddy/media/Lexi/Emblems%20and%20Wheel%20Chip%20Guards/2016011723180501.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/clintdaddy/Lexi/Emblems%20and%20Wheel%20Chip%20Guards/2016011723180501.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 2016011723180501.jpg"/></a>

After 3 coats of base and 3 coats of clear
