That'll be quite the car when you're "done" with it!
T2D2,
My builder says he has ways to address this. I am letting him do his thing.

Share what you learn, if he doesn't consider it an industry secret. The only solution I've seen is to wire the ECU's power to the ignition so it resets itself every time the car is shut off. But enough people seem to have not reported any problem, I can't help but think it doesn't affect all models (i.e. OBDI vs II).

He has at least 5 cars still running this way with happy owners, including his own car. I'll report what I learn.

Default Going Deeper!

Now its time to:
Check and or rebuild head
Arp head studs
TT head gasket
Timing belt
Water pump
Seals
Remove emissions crap
And...... anything else that makes sense.

The builder says outside of the rust outside the block, the motor looks just like a particularly low mileage 2JZ should look........ practically PERFECT. He saw symptoms of a tiny bit more oil loss on one piston but it way minor.

I would suggest you do new oil pump as well

Why did you not pull engine and trans out in one piece.....I thought you were adding a new clutch for w58?

Catman,
Dunno why, I'm not doing it. I'm just annoying him and paying. I know tranny is already out.

Thanks

He is punishing his spine for bad behavior......

Maybe because initially we were just doing TT gasket and Arp studs..... The scope of work has changed many times.

The head went out for servicing. Valves, decking, hot tanking Etc. Should be back early next week.

You should have some of the parts powdercoated while you have them all clean.....they will never look like that again if you dont get them coated
