Almost done!
Good morning all!
I just about have this 95 done...My name is Martin and we love to restore special cars and as an old L1 Master tech of 40+ years I've seen and worked on a few! I've always been impressed with the quality and engineering of the SC's, Between the mid 60's Mercedes and the SC's I'd say they are the best of the best from ergonomics, Reliability, materials, engineering and style We traded a customer for an RX 300 we had for this Diamond white pearl 95 with 189k on it, We decided this car was well worth bringing back to the car it once was, After some clean up and a new paint job (must be 10 coats total and 200 hr's of taking out rock chips, dings and scratches polishing and wet sanding to get that baby smooth glass finish back) Then went to work on her! We found some really nice OE 5 spoke wheels and put on a fresh set of Pirelli P7 Cinturatos on them, Gave it a few upgrades IE Viper remote start and we were fortunate to find a perfect home link visor from a 98 that makes it a simple plug and play just program.
New stuff Timing belt , Frt eng seals, water pump and related pulleys, Thermostat and Radiator, acc belts, new valve seals,
OE eng. and trans mounts, Torque converter and rear main seal, 7yr Delco Battery, Frt Struts, All new brakes, Drive shaft coupler, Rear axles, all fluids and filters serviced 4 wheel alignment, New Italian leather Front seats, Replaced rear view mirror glass, Used CD changer.
Probably a few things I've forgotten, anyway It drives and runs as smooth and quite as it did in 95, It's fun to see many people's reaction -Wow that's a 95?
