1JZ fuel & pressure mystery...Where did you go?
I am having a fuel delivery issue which has left me stumped. I am hoping that maybe someone else has had a similar experience and may be able to point me in the right direction.
Once the key has been switched into the on position...
The fuel pump powers on and delivers fuel through the filter and up to the fuel rail.
the gasoline is flowing through the fuel rail and exits in what I'd consider a powerful stream.
THIS is where it gets tricky.
Once the gasoline leaves the fuel rail, it flows through the feed line and to the FPR.
Once it enters the fuel pressure regulator it disappears.
It will register 40 psi flutter and then drop all the way to 00 psi.
even whilst you adjust the diaphragm no movement registers on the gauge, nor any considerable amount of fuel exiting the FPR's return line.
At first, I was using an Aeromotive, but today I have swapped it out for a Tomei thinking the FPR was at fault.
Annnnnd well I am having the same issue.
I've even hooked up 2 different OEM FPR's and nothing exits the return side.
Some other fuel system components that I have replaced:
New OEM gas tank
AEM 320lph in-tank fuel pump & screen
WIX fuel filter (OEM location)
still using the OEM fuel lines, fuel rail & fuel Injectors
If anyone has experience and may have any ideas dealing with a similar malfunction, any informative information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
UPDATE: problem found

the fuel returning to your fpr should be coming out the return side of your fuel rail. also, please put a bigger filter on that turbo. you will suck in that plastic, "chromed" piece in the middle of the filter and blow up your turbo. its happened to a few of my friends already

I just found the problem, and now im trying to determine which of the three possibilities are the culprit.
There are 2 lines on the passenger side of the tank thank connect underneath the car.
Are they crossed?
Are the lines clogged?
or
Has the weld inside of the tank broken?
