Project: 97 SC300 1JZ
Bout time i finally get a build thread going after having this car so long. so here it goes...
Backround: i picked this car up around my senior year in high school. Prior to the SC, i was driving around the hand-me-down 98 VW beetle. Not a desirable car, didn't have the performance potential i wanted, and wasn't exactly the car i wanted to be seen in. Enter the SC...
When i first started hunting for the SC i looked long and hard for one of the 5-speed variants. They were very few in the area but after a month and a half of looking i found what i was looking for...and then some. Come to find out that the 97 was the last year they made them in 5-speed form and only 120 of them were produced. The car also came with a set of aftermarket wheels. It had some miles on it, but it was a good start for what i wanted.
Few years later, i finally found myself in a position to modify the car. One of the major mods i wanted was boost and after debating about which route to decide, i settled with swapping the old 2JZ-GE for a 1JZ-GTE out of a Soarer. It took much longer than i wanted, with wiring problems, broken parts, scammers, etc. until finally after about a year after i started the car was up and running. And I haven't looked back since.
Bottom line: im building an all around car street car. im not looking for a million HP monster. I'm looking for 5-600hp while still making a comfortable car with a good ride, a/c, sound system, and turn plenty of heads along the way. I don't plan on selling the car anytime in the future, it's one of those cars i can't see myself letting go so expect a lot over the course of it's life.
Mods so far:
1JZ-GTE
Driftmotion intake
Custom FMIC piping
HKS midpipe
Apex'i GT-spec Exhaust (modified from a Supra)
Fidanza 12lb flywheel
ACT Xtreme clutch with street disc
Greddy BCC
Greddy SCC
Greddy Profec B boost controller
Blitz boost gauge
Niche Rhine wheels
LS400 front brake setup
MKIV Supra seats

So been a while since i've updated, and i've been busy...
Supra rear brakes to go with my LS400 fronts, plus some cosmetic upgrades
Koni shocks with Supra TT springs and sway bars
Before lowering...
After lowering. Can't tell much by the pics but it's a good 1.5 down in the front and about 1.0 in the back
Next up, fender rolling and wheel spacers
