8052JZ's NA-T Build

SSSOOOOO after going through everything trying to figure out why it wouldn't go past springs pressure, my tuner finally tells me that it's now time to turn up the boost? When he last tuned the car he had no control over boost sense all it was doing was creeping. Even though the previous setup was able to hit 28psi there was no control over boost sense it was a bad boost creep issue. SO now that I have boost under control we can finally "complete" the tune.
One last thing I need to do before I drop the car off, is look for an exhaust leak somewhere around the turbo. I think its the vband from the turbo to downpipe which is Ok but I'm going to smoke test the exhaust system just to make sure nothing is leaking in the major points of the exhaust/turbo. Making my own smoke tester for under 25 bucks.I will show you folks later pretty cool actually lol.
AND I ordered a clear plastic cover off ebay from China/Japan for $35 and finally got it a month later. I didn't want to spend 100 on the oem just so I can cut off the front of it. I was expecting it to be all clear with no badges just like the pictures but it actually says Greddy underneath it. but I plan to paint it black at some point. Fitment was spot on as well.
I also put the OEM fan shroud back on.

I had a similar issues with my Vband setup on my turbo to down pipe. I bought a Vband gasket off eBay and no more leak. I knew it was leaking I could smell it and also it burnt the hell outta my hood insulation. With the gasket which cost me like 10 bucks I was good. It might help you also. Just a suggestion.

Thanks Ill look into that! What type of gasket are they? Can you send me a link?
Before going on the dyno I need to replace the rear main seal and maybe put in a new clutch. FSR doesn't like the car leaking oil when it goes on the dyno. So I guess it's a good time to do all of that before it goes on the dyno.

This is the linknfor gasket and the guy I bought it from

Most places don't allow any cars leaking any fluid on the Dyno so ya nows a good a time as any to fix the motor!! Can't wait to see what the numbers are!!

Transmission was done and I've been driving the car for about 2-3 weeks now preparing for this weekends trip to the dyno. My buddy had a set of lq9 coils that I was able to get from him at no cost so I got them ready and ill be installing them tonight. I was having some sort of ignition issue where it would kill the motor while driving around on a hot day. Tunner is thinking the coils might be over heating or something of that nature so I figured I just put in the lq9s sense I've got everything needed and it didn't cost me a penny.
Cleaned up ready to be wired in.
In the video below you will see what its doing.. The RPM needle would bounce back and forth and it feels like the motor stalls out and goes back to normal. This only happens on a Hot Day. In the morning she drive fine with no issues. So I am hoping its an ignition issue where the ignitor or coils or going bad. In that case the lq9's will fix that issue.

Installed and running! Right now I have the spark plugs gapped at .025. Correct me if im wrong in Gap with lq9's but I guess it will work for now and the tuner can adjust them if needed.
Out with the old....
In with the new.. I made a complete new harness just so I know everything will work.. all I used where 3 wires for each coil. Switched 12v, engine ground, ecu trigger. I reused the 12v source from the harness. The rest are all new wires.
And here it is running. There is a slight backfire at idle which is fine for now sense it does need a tune.

A bigger turbo comes with greater responsibility. In that case, more power lol Anyway, my buddy made a point where I wont be able to make more the 720hp due to fuel restriction. The FIC 1100 injectors where pretty much maxed out at 90% duty from the last tune. So, he convinced me to put in his FID2000cc injectors for this weekend which he kindly dropped off last night. I will get those on after the car gets loaded on the trailer. I'm sure it will need to get setup before starting the car which ill have the tuner do when I get there.
Only pic I took, have to dream a bit on power right? lol

looks great, those 2000's will definately give you a whole new overhead of fuel.
with the LQ9 you can move the gap up alot, especially if you are running sequential.
try a .043 gap and if its not missing you will also pick up power with it, you shouldn't have to gap down much with the lq9 at least do .032 to start. good luck!

Well its been a long *** weekend, almost 14 hours of driving just to and from the tuner but well worth the trip! Lawrence Shipmen did a great job on the tune. Calibrated all my gauges, setup boost by gear and a few other features that he thought might come handy. I was also able to ask questions while he was tuning which was awesome. Very pleased with Lawrence in Santa Rosa, CA LSFabrication.
She made 753rwhp and 618trq at 28psi setting the rev limit to 6800rpm and the Turbo starts to spool around 4600rmp. So I was able to squeeze about 40 more HP from the previous setup with no creep issues and no ignition issues! VERY HAPPY! We stopped at 28psi and 6800 rev limit because the stock cams where not able to make anymore power so we decided it would be sort of pointless to go any further.
Now that this motor is somewhat done and everything works as it should. I've had something brewing for the last year and its almost come to its completion! This coming up summer, some major changes will be had lol
Some video's on the dyno.
