So Im guessing your not doing anything crazy with this build if you are worried about the economy? I wouldnt say performance wise that the VVTI 2jz-gte is "better" than the regular 2jz-gte. Strength wise I would say that the VVTI is weaker

450whp at 18psi
STU said that with his hydrid CT12b USDM turbo set up. I could make a reliable 450whp at 18psi. That's good enough for me.

The List Of Things
COMPLETED

2: Removed Transmission
3: Removed Crankshaft Pulley
Parts Ordered

I think that 2jzgte is one of the best production engine. So if Toyota decided to improve on it with the vvti system which emphasis is on economy, emissions and, most importantly, driveability - giving maximum throttle response and a linear spread of torque from idle to the 6800 rpm redline. The VVT-i system infinitely adjusts inlet cam timing over a full 60-degree range. And that why I went with the 2jzgte vvti.
