water droplets on windscreen
I'm from Hong Kong and I own a 99 IS200. My windscreen was damaged sometime ago and I recently had it replaced with a new Lexus brand windscreen (which costed much more than their generic brand) at a shop in Hong Kong. I noticed the difference in quality between the old and new windscreen when I subsequently drove my car in the rain. With the old windscreen, the rain would form round droplets when it falls on the glass, a bit like water on a wax surface. But with the new windscreen, the water would scatter all over the glass instead, which makes it difficult to see in the rain. I suspect the shop sold me an imitation or a fake, which is not unusual in Hong Kong.
My question is - is there any thing I can put on the windscreen to make it better, perhaps some wax or polish? I don't want to go back to the shop to negotiate for a refund yet (which would be a complete nightmare) until I try the other things first to see if they work. Any ideas?

PIAA SuperSilicone wipers come with a glass wax to use on the windshield in conjunction with the wipers. Since the wax smells just like Rain-X, I've been occasionally retreating my windshield with my handy bottle of Rain-X with excellent results, as far as beading water. No sheeting whatsoever.
(I've also had the PIAAs on for over a year with no sign of streaking yet, on either the GS or the RX. And with the RX, I was replacing wipers every 6 months because of chattering, so I'm very pleased with 'em.)

I am also living in Hong Kong, and yes, Rain-X is available here. Probably you first need to clean/degrease your windows and then use something like Rain-X. The trick is to make your windscreen as smooth as possible, such that water droplets cannot stick to it

HKSC300, I have already taken it to the shop for cleaning & polishing but since the screen was brand new, it didn't make much difference. But where can I find Rain-X & how often do I have to use it?

You can buy RainX in a lot of shops in Mongkok, or Shamshuipo. You have to apply once and then ti will be good for 2 - 3 months.
Please PM me if you have more questions.
