Detailing as meditation
Ok, this isn't a thread asking about how to fix scratches, it's just that I wanted to say thanks to all the people on this forum (especially detailing guru Zack McGovern) for showing me how to properly detail a car. Now I find detailing to be a quiet, meditative activity, a good way to spend an early weekend morning with a gleaming car as the final result.
I get some weird looks from fellow residents who see me washing the car every week even though we're in the rainy season, where wet and muddy roads are a daily pain in the behind. I'm just happy to see rain bead off a freshly detailed surface.
It's also a good workout. My Pebble thinks I've walked a few miles and burned 1000 calories during my last detailing session. All I know is my arms and legs are aching when I'm done. So even if it's a mild form of madness, keep it up and keep detailing
